Legion Command Donates $7,500 toward the purchase of a new Urine Analyzer for Brockville General Hospital
On March 23, the Royal Canadian Legion, Brockville Branch 96 contingent of President, Don Corneil (middle), Vice President, Sara Easter (second from right,) and the Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 96 President, Mary Ann Greenwood (right), presented a $7,500 cheque on behalf of the Provincial Command Charitable Foundation to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Board Director, Dennis Hudson (left), and Medical Laboratory Technologist, Stephanie Etherington, (second from left). These funds are earmarked towards the purchase of a new Urine Analyzer for Brockville General Hospital. The newer model will accept multiple samples for analysis and is interfaced with the hospital’s computer system with access readily available by doctors.
On Thursday, March 1, 2018, ten members of the May Court Club of Brockville toured Brockville General Hospital’s Model Room, located at the 1000 Islands Mall, in Brockville. This room shows the layout of the future inpatient rooms for Phase II of the Redevelopment Project. With the new patient tower the community can expect to see
enhanced patient spaces including the latest hospital design, and environmentally friendly building components.
In 2017 the Upper Canada Family Health Team continued their tradition of donating $2 per week to take advantage of Casual Fridays. In doing so, the staff raised $2,866. From this amount, $1,948 was donated to the Palliative Care Service and $918 was designated to support the Brockville General Hospital's Cardiovascular Program. The total raised by the Upper Canada Family Health Team since 2013 is $11,534.
