Monday, November 2nd, 2020: The Brockville and District Hospital Foundation (BDHF) have announced that this year’s Annual Appeal will be raising $140,000 to purchase a new Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) laser for BGH’s Ophthalmology Department. A YAG laser is used to provide treatments for a variety of eye diseases, such as glaucoma and cataracts.

Annual Appeal Letters were mailed out to supporters of the hospital on Friday, October 30th in time for the Foundation’s Annual Appeal Kick-off on November 2nd. Donations can also be made by calling the Foundation’s direct line at (613) 345-4478, or by visiting the Foundation’s website at www.bdhfoundation.com.

The BDHF’s Executive Director, Joan Simon, noted, “The Foundation is very fortunate that this community has always been generous in its support to Brockville General Hospital, and I am certain that the community will be on board with donating to purchase new eye surgery equipment. Eyesight health is a great concern for many, and keeping this service close to home is an important factor as well.”

The Annual Appeal campaign runs until December 24th, 2020.
