Brockville & District Hospital Foundation Unveils Donor Wall in Honor of Contributors to the 'Your Health, Your Hospital' MRI/Equipment Campaign

Brockville, ON — The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation celebrated today the remarkable spirit of giving that is providing healthcare professionals at Brockville General Hospital with the resources they need to provide outstanding care to future generations of patients and their families.

In a special event, the Foundation unveiled a new donor wall in the main lobby of the hospital, recognizing the generous contributions of donors whose unwavering support made the 'Your Health, Your Hospital' MRI/Equipment Campaign a resounding success.

The campaign, which began in January 2022 aimed to raise funds for critical updates to leading edge medical equipment, including the acquisition of a state-of-the-art MRI scanner. Thanks to the community's support, the campaign not only met but exceeded its fundraising goals, eventually raising a remarkable $12.5 million.

"The new donor wall is a testament to the power of community and the impact of collective action," said Trish Buote, Executive Director, Brockville & District Hospital Foundation. "It serves as a daily reminder of what we can achieve together and is an expression of our deep gratitude to all who contributed to this vital campaign."

“The campaign’s incredible success shows the strong connection of our community to Brockville General Hospital and the care we provide,” said Nick Vlacholias, President and CEO. “On behalf of our staff, physicians, and volunteers, I extend heartfelt appreciation to everyone whose contributions made the campaign a success. Our hospital is so fortunate to have the unwavering support of the Foundation and their commitment to work as partners to help us continue to deliver the best healthcare experience for our patients.”

“We’re blessed to live in one of the most generous communities and the success of the Foundation’s $12.5-million campaign demonstrates once again how our residents will rise to any challenge,” said Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. “Thank you to everyone who dug deep and gave what they could to support the campaign. I want to commend the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation for everything they do to support our hospital and ensure the amazing staff have the equipment they need to provide world-class care close to home.”

The unveiling ceremony featured remarks from key stakeholders, including hospital leadership and major donors. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn how donations to the campaign have help to enhance patient care.
