THE BUTCHER SHOP INC. FINDS A COOL WAY TO SUPPORT BROCKVILLE GENERAL HOSPITAL

May 17, 2022: The Butcher Shop in Brockville has always been strong supporters of the Brockville community. For many years, they have supported the Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament, Ribfest, and many other community initiatives.

Last week, Joan Simon, Executive Director of the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation received a call from Tanya and Rick Orr, owners of The Butcher Shop who had a plan to raise funds for the Foundation’s current MRI campaign. Their plan was to sell cooler bags at a cost of $5.00 with the tag line, “Help bring an MRI to BGH.” In less than two weeks, The Butcher Shop was sold out of the cooler bags having raised $2,500 with all proceeds going towards the MRI. Tanya and Rick Orr were amazed by the outpouring of supporters that they decided to match the donations.

Pictured in front of their storefront, Tanya and Rick Orr, owners of The Butcher Shop Inc., present a cheque in the amount of $5,000 to incoming Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Board Chair, Linda Hansen. Tanya and Rick Orr came up with the idea to sell cooler bags to raise funds for an MRI for Brockville General Hospital and matched the funds that were raised.
